I retired from sailing after nearly electrocuting Jeff Van Soest, but now I'm
on the State Electrical Board. I would have to drop 100 lbs. to make my freshmen
wrestling weight - so my new occupation is hockey. At all of my occupational
pursuits, they say "don't quit the day job" so I still have the same
job that I started when I was 10. I had a few detours along the way and found
myself working at a wastewater treatment plant and tending bar in a whorehouse.
The pay and ambiance were about the same. My wife was my date at the 10-year
reunion. We made a deal back then, she ditches her boyfriend and I would lose my
cohabiting girlfriend. It's been a great deal. We have always kept our home in
Bozeman but have lived in the Flathead Valley, Elko NV and Idaho for random
periods of time. Having kids is the greatest - I'm late for work every day and I
come home for lunch to play with them. And once they start school, I think I'll
leave a little sooner for a nooner.

I spent the whole 80's decade in college and graduate school--not much to
tell about during those years. 1991 was a big year for me. During that summer, I
finished my Ph.D., got my first "real" job (and still have it!), and
got married. As happy as '91 was for us, the next year was nightmarish. My wife
was diagnosed first with leukemia, then with colon cancer. After several
operations and chemo, she seemed to have beaten the colon cancer, but in 1996
she died due to complications while receiving a bone marrow transplant for the
leukemia. Most of the pain and sadness has faded and I can now look back with
happy memories and look forward and enjoy life, maybe more now than before. The
last four years I have traveled quite a bit. I've been to Asia several times and
Europe once, along with the occasional trip back to Bozeman to see family. I
took a sabbatical during the '98-'99 academic year and worked for the government
in D.C. (suburban Maryland to be exact). It was interesting to work in a
non-academic setting for a while, but I found out that academia is really the
place for me. So now I'm back in Missouri teaching and doing research, and
enjoying my summer (and winter) breaks! Looking forward to seeing everybody at
the reunion.

Since this is the only group of people that I cannot lie to about my age,
here are the gory details: I did my undergraduate work at MSU and received my
Masters from UCLA. I've spent the years since BSHS living in Los Angeles, New
York and occasional summers in Jackson Hole. As an actor, I've performed in way
more stage plays than I can count, less TV shows than I would have liked and
very few movies that anyone remembers. Most recently I starred as Elvis in the
Los Angeles hit play "Elvis and Juliet." As of late the writing bug
has bit me and my plays have been performed from NY to CA and in 1998 I returned
to Bozeman to attend the MSU premiere of my play "The Atomic View
Motel." I have won several writing awards including the prestigious Seppi
Comedy Screenwriting Award. My wife Lisa is a performer, having done every major
lead in every musical known to mankind and currently starring as "I"
in the "King and I" which is why we'll not make the reunion. We
recently were in D.C. where Lisa had the honor of singing for the President (and
her dress came back stain-free). Our 17-month-old daughter Madison can make the
sounds of all the barnyard animals. Clearly she is a genius and is thrilled that
I am currently working for a famous five-foot mouse named Mickey. If anyone
asks, I graduated high school at age 8.

After several challenging years of college at Bozeman, I spent 11 years
flying for the Air National Guard. Married in '92 (my idea, finally), kid's in
'95 & '97 (my idea, too), gave up military flying in late '97 (not my idea,
but a pretty good one anyway) and got my first real job (not my idea, either)
flying a corporate airplane based in Bozeman. I'm still in the Air Guard, as a
Maintenance Officer, and I've just very recently moved to a greener pasture,
flying MD-80's for American Airlines. It's all been great fun ...

Following graduation from BSHS I attended MSU and UM for studies in physical
therapy and psychology. Then I moved to the Seattle area to find my fortune. I
have worked at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland for the past 13 years. My duties
there over the years have included teaching water therapy, supervising
therapists for our home health division, working at our head injury re-entry
center, healing back injuries in our out-patient clinic, hauling people out of
their hospital bed following their surgeries and working with metro transit
(bus) system on a project to assist people with special needs to access
transportation. In 1994 I married Tom. We love to travel and have made trips to
the Carribean, Hawaii, and several to Mexico. In '97, we sold our perfectly good
house and moved into an apartment while we built our dream home. We bought
property, subdivided it, sold 2 lots to help pay for the house, and then
designed our floor plan and had it built. It took 2 1/2 years but we finally
moved in last September to our beautiful home on 2 acres of forest. In the mean
time, while in that little apartment, we had our first BABY, Daniel, in 1999. He
is my greatest joy! (But no more traveling for us for a while!) Now I spend my
time working part time and spending the rest entertaining my new son. We go to
parks, work in the garden, play the piano (he is pretty good already at 16
months!), and have parties on the week-ends. In my spare time I act as a Parks
and Recreation Comissioner for the city of Woodinville and teach water aerobics
for the YMCA. Life is good. Hope you all can say the same. Look forward to
seeing everybody in July!

I must congratulate and thank the organizers of this event. I only went to
BSHS my senior year and to Spokane my first 3, so I decided to go to both
reunions. The one in Spokane was put on by a hired group. It was adequate, but
felt "canned" and was very expensive. There was no way to find out who
else was coming to the party ahead of time and no web page. You guys shine
brightly against "the professionals". It is obvious you have spent

I met Rick, who grew up in Great Falls, in 1981 while he was attending MSU
were he received his degree in graphic arts. Four years later we were planning a
wedding when his work transferred him to Salt Lake City, so for our honeymoon,
we moved to Utah. Once there I worked managing a beauty salon and went to beauty
school in the evening. I then worked several years doing hair. During this time
I decided to do some volunteer work in the education department for Hogle Zoo. I
also decided to spend some of my evening hours at a Veterinary Hospital as a
receptionist. After a couple of years of that, I decided I needed to free up
some of my time, so I stopped my work at the Zoo. Then eventually I quit working
in the hair business and I now work full time (and then some), managing a
medical specialty clinic for animals called The Eye Clinic For Animals. Rick is
currently working for a local car dealership called Utah Auto Collection as
their Promotions Director. Several years ago we bought an unfinished house in a
suburb of Salt Lake called Magna. We spend our weekends and most of our evenings
working on finishing the house and yard. We both miss Montana and hope we will
be able to eventually move back.

Lots has happened, but I'll abbreviate a bit. Since High School, I attended
Broadcasting school and worked several years as a Radio Personality and T.V.
Sportscaster before finally getting hired by the Bozeman Fire Department.
Married wife Rikki (From the Chicago area) in '87 and built our home north of
town in the Springhill area that same year. We opted against kids in favor of
animals. 2 horses and a cat, which we use on back country pack trips quite often

What has happened in the last 10 years???????
I moved back to Bozeman from Idaho, and it was the best thing I ever did. I
liked Idaho, but it is really nice to be home with family. I then met Tracy, got
married and had Zach. We now live out on our family ranch, and have plenty to
keep us busy. I am still selling toys, and plan to open a new toy store in
September.

I went to MSU for four years, leaving with a degree in engineering. I moved
to the San Francisco Bay Area and got a job with Pacific Bell where I stayed for
11 years doing various technical and operations jobs. During that time, I
married a beautiful woman from Pittsburgh (long distance dating is tough, but
you get a lot of frequent flyer miles). I also earned my Master's degree. We
took a transfer to the east coast in 1995, pulling up stakes and moving to New
Jersey where I went to work for Bellcore, now Telcordia Technologies. Bellcore
was a product of the break-up of the old Bell System. We have two wonderful
daughters and enjoy our lives in semi-rural (believe it or not) northern New
Jersey.

I left Bozeman in 1985 after graduating from MSU. Since then, I have had a
tough time hanging on to jobs seems every three years or so I have to search
for another one. The first job was in Colorado Springs, then a stint in Texas,
and then a frightening five year tenure in Los Angeles. After escaping Los
Angeles we returned to Colorado Springs for a second time, but once again we
left Colorado after three years. We then moved north thinking maybe we could
hide out in Alaska and possibly stay a little longer, no such luck kept
running into too many people from Bozeman. So after three dark and cold years in
Alaska, we were sent packing. Wanting to thaw out and to have a skin color other
than opaque blue, we headed south to Tampa Florida. Some time in the middle of
all that moving, I married Wendy Witmer (BSHS 82) and we acquired three kids
and two dogs. I spend most my days keeping out of the way of Wendy and the kids
between music, school, Scouts, and all the obligatory sports there isnt
much time for anything else (well maybe looking for a job or two).

Mainly the kids. It takes most people 9 months to have kids, it took us 9
years! (by chose) I quit working to stay home with them. I work much harder and
longer hours! It has been great fun. We moved from Denver to ND. (trying to get
back to Bozeman) God that was dreadful. We hated it. Hot and humid in the summer
and freezing cold in the winter. The best thing was Madi was born there, poor
thing that will be with her forever! haha We were able to move back to Bozeman
in '98. So far all is good.

A friend of mine said at her 20 year they asked if you could go back to 1980
what would you do different? She said some of the people would have partied
more, ditched classes more etc. I probably would have done alot less of those
